Warren Moon was the quarterback for the Houston Oilers from 1984-1993. Moon played professionally for 23 seasons, is a nine-time Pro-Bowler and was also named the 1990 NFL Most Valuable Player. In 2006, Moon was the first African-American quarterback inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Warren was raised by a single mother.

Andre Ware won the 1989 Heisman Trophy while playing quarterback for the University of Houston. He is the first African-American quarterback to receive this honor.  He was a first-round draft pick for the Detroit Lions and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004.  Andre was raised by a single mother.

Vince Young is one of the greatest Houston high school quarterbacks of all time.  He is a National Champion and Heisman runner-up from the University of Texas.  He was a first round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.  Vince was raised by a single mother.
